Carnival Excursion: Beach Break at Resort

Has anyone done this excursion?

The resort looks nice.

It says the bus ride is 40 min each way.

The bus meets us at the end of the pier?

We have been twice (Nov. 2013 and June 2014). We loved it. The bus meets you outside the shopping area where the ship is docked. They will line you up just before you enter the shopping area.

We did it last year it's the Reef Hotel. We had originally booked another excursion that was canceled and this is what we settled on and my husband, parents, and I all enjoyed our time there. We are considering doing it again this year.

We went to Techno Hotel Beach Break by Shore Excursioneer. Our rep was at the pier where we disembarked and they took us to our vehicle for a short drive to the resort. Beach was nice, service excellent and we really enjoyed our time at the beach in Mexico. This was our only port of call and we were able to relax just as planned.

Are you able to leave the resort any time you wish? I noticed the "tour" is 4 hours, but I doubt we will want to stay that long. anyone been recently?

Has anyone booked this at the pier rather than going through Carnival?

My understanding that Carnival goes to a different resort.

Were there a lot of people on this excursion through Carnival?

I'm curious about the shoreexcursioneer AI vs. the Carnival AI. Has anyone done both? Are they at the same place?

We have gone to Technotel with Auto Progreso 3 times. We booked it at their store at the pier each time. They used to go to the Yucatan Reef Club which is where I think the Carnival excursion takes you to. We actually enjoyed Technotel more than the Reef Club.
