Please let me know your top ten list to do, to eat, etc in Bangkok.

A massage in the Wat Po....followed by a drink across the street and down an alley at the Arun residence....and dinner if it is that hour....One of the most enchanting places right on the river that I have seen.....Great bar, great restaurant......and the Wat Po is amazing....Too many amazing things in Bangkok.....wandering the flower market....if you like flowers....if you don't well, it sure isn't on your top 10 list but if you do....WOW...

If you're in Bangkok on a weekend do visit Chatachuk Market. It's huge but maps are available.

Try a canal trip and see how people live on the water.

Ride the skytrain (stops right outside Chatachuk).

The Oriental Hotel has a lovely New Year's Party in the Garden outside, right on the river. During our stay they also had exotic animals there.

There are soooo many things to do in Bankok

Visit the Grand Palace and see the Emerald Buddha - the holiest of Buddha's in Thailand

Visit Wat Po and see the Reclining Buddha

Take the cheap boat that crosses the Chao Praya River and visit Wat Arun

Visit Jim Thompson's House

See a traditional Thai dance show at night -- perhaps something similar to what they have a Silom Village where they have food, dancing and Thai arts and crafts

Take a canal cruise to see life along the canals

Head out of town and visit a Floating Market

Shop at one of the many indoor and outdoor markets - stuff is cheap, bargain hard

Visit the Chatuchak Weekend Market if you are there over the weekend

Visit Chinatown - especially at night when it comes alive with numerous street food vendors

If you haven't had enough of Wats yet, visit the Marble Wat (Wat Benjamabophit), it's beautiful. Or Wat Traimit right near Chinatown - there is a solid gold 4 ton Buddha statue that's amazing!

Go see the famous 4-face Buddha statue at the Grand Hyatt Erawan. Locals and visitors alike flock to this place.

Go to Khao San Road - a favorite for tourists and especially backpackers. This place is crazy over Thai new year.

If you are into sports go to the Lumpinee Boxing Stadium to see traditional Muay Thai matches

If you are interested in going to a place that many Thais hold sacred - visit San Chao Po Lak Muang. This is where the City Pillar for Bangkok sits and is considered the center of the city. It is very close to the Grand Palace so you can easily tuk tuk over. The famous Sanamluang Park (open green area) is around here too and this area is often used for large city-wide celebrations.

If you want to shop, visit the Siam Square area (easy to reach via BTS) or go to MBK

This covers just about everything. Only thing I would add is to check out one of the Roof Top Restaurants esp. Sirocco or Vertigo. 50+ stories up and great views of the sprawling city below.

Great suggestions. I third (fourth) the Chatuchak market.

I also really enjoyed the "snake farm" (Queen Saovabha Memorial Institute). It's wild.

Here's one nobody has mentioned if you like to shop. Firstly get the history and visit a beautiful place by going to the Jim Thompson House. However don't buy anything there.

You will see gorgeous Jim Thompson thai silk fabric and associated products everywhere - some fake, the originals are only in Jim Thompson shops and in department stores such as Central.

However, there is a massive factory outlet with stunning stuff at great prices. Every time I go to BKK I come back with tons of stuff from there. You can get the skytrain to the nearest stop (which from memory is On Nut but you might want to check that) and catch a cab or just get a cab the whole way there.

Be careful, there is another JT shop at Bangrak (Bangchak vs Bangrak, similar names). the Bangchak one is five stories of shopping fabulousness, the Bangrak one only 1.5 floors and those much smaller.
