Can you even hear your own music over the 1000 decibel blare of the rap-crap on deck?

I listen to almost anything. I always spend a day before my cruise to purchase new music go thru my mental library for old tunes I might not have yet and then update music on i-pod with new stuff and put old stuff in storage on my computer. I hate to fly and count on my i-pod to help me "go somewhere else" during the flight. I also find that if we have loud people in cabins near us, putting in the ear plugs and listening to music will help me to fall asleep.

Some great cruise music is anything by Jesse Rice. Pretty much anything off his album "Pirate Sessions". My favorite songs are Haze of the Rum, Island State of Mind, and Key West Time.

I usually avoid the main pool area, so that I can hear my I-Pod! I've got everything on it from BIG BAND, to COUNTRY, to OPERA, to STEEL DRUM music. I enjoy almost all music,,,except RAP CRAP, which I frankly, don't even consider music.

We always set away from the main pool area and I have a great had set of headphones that just luws me to sleep listening to my cruise music. Noise is no problem for us. Heck chairs are not even a problem usually for us to find. Of course we are not to picky. Do not like crowds.

Currently, I have a mix of C&W artists (some old, some new) on my iPod. But, I plan on changing it out for a mix of Jimmy Buffet, Kenny Cheney, Calypso and some others in preparation for our upcoming cruise.

I share my iTunes account with my two daughters, and each of us has varied tastes in music. The mix I'm listening to on my iPod right now includes a lot of classic rock and oldies like the Beatles, the Stones, Styx, Foreigner, Billy Joel... but thanks to my daughters I also have Coldplay and Kelly Clarkson and a whole bunch of Disney classics.

When I'm cruising I'm a Parrothead...

Buffet, Marley, UB 40, Chesney, Zac Brown, Freddie MacGregor. Some steel drums mixed in there...

The music is the same (a mix of everything except opera, but heavy on country), but I will make sure I have several audiobooks loaded on as well. I've become a new member of Audible.com and I'm loving it.
