Day Pass

Crusintogether

Recommended Posts

This company will take you on a day trip to a Jungle Spa Resort.

No beach,

but....spa and horseback riding...and pool, etc.

This is the link to the actual Resort. You can book through the Resort, too...but it is more expensive.

I haven't been to the Resort yet. Planning on going there in March.

Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune have been filmed on location at this Resort.

Be sure to read spider monkey attack thread here...

a young gal was on their horseback riding excursion and horse startled by their PET monkey, she was thrown and horribly bitten by the monkey..

the people at the resort did little to help her

she is still recovering and shaken and maybe permanently hurt by this, and the resort is stonewalling

I also thought the Jungle Spa looked great til I read of this...there is a long thread here about it, "Spider Monkey Attack"

JMO>> all of these shore excursions/tour operators etc are constantly changing, you really have to do some searchs on these boards, and read and ask a lot of questions

I don't pretend to know all the answers (tee hee) and get ragged sometimes cause I have not yet been to these places, but I do a LOT of reading on these boards and try to keep up with it

Maybe Kelly, the girl who was bitten, will let us know what is happening

JMO I won't go there, or book tours with that company, unless I see some good resolution for this poor young woman

I am open to other suggestions and/or info on this topic..thanks in advance

Yes, I did read about that woman. That is very unfortunate.

We also had a 10 year old killed last week, by a dog....here in my town.

Animals are animals....and we must be aware at all times in their presence.

And...neither person mentioned above were at fault, that I am sure of.

It's just a very hard and unfortunate situation.

These things do happen.

We had a day pass at St. George's Caye Lodge and just loved it. Check out my posts at

http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=456711

and their are several others under St. George's Caye Lodge on previous pages (easy to seach - just use my name for the poster in the search function).

The beach was great for hunting seashells and sitting by, but I have no idea about swimming. From the dock, it looked like there is seaweed pretty far in. But they can take you out to a wonderful area in the ocean where there is a sandbar and the water is very shallow. They even said that they sometimes set up a BBQ out there!

We loved the little Tahitian style huts on the water. You can see pictures at:
