Private Tour Guide

Not even sure this is possible but we are looking for a private tour including a boat ride on the Tortuguero Canal & the banana plantation. We really dislike the big-bus tours & we want someone trust-worthy. (I have read about a few bad apples that set-up their people to be robbed)

We did OkeyDokey tours with Charlie Soto in 2007 and it was great. Go to the Costa Rica board and do a search. There are a lot of threads pro/con.

We also used Charlie this past April and thought it was excellent. He kept in touch with our driver throughout the day and also spoke to me on the phone to make sure I was happy. I would highly recommend using Okey Dokey!

Look for my Trip Report "Robbed at the banana grove" as to our experience with OkeyDokey and Mr. Soto. I would suggest that you also check any of the other very unhappy reports from dealing with that company! Run a search at TripAdvisor as well!

Odyssey tours with Alvaro and Diego. We used them for transportation when we were there for ten days as we transversed the country from San Jose airport to Arenal to Guanacaste and back to San Jose airport. Excellent guides and a very personable family operation. On their website I noticed that they have what you are looking for.
