New to MSC some questions

I am seeing an awesome deal on MSC Seaside for September next year. Have gone through all the steps online booking engine, but am nervous to book myself, and prefer to speak to a person. Their office is now closed till tomorrow. No big deal, I will call tomorrow and likely book it.

In the mean time, my main question is how much down payment is normally required? and is it different for solo cruisers? Also does flex time dining mean that I can choose my own dining time, and can dine alone?

I prefer this, because I like to "eat and run", and also have a hearing deficit, which makes conversation with strangers difficult. so , my questions are how much deposit required , and do I understand flex time dining correctly?.

Oops, one more question. Is it true that MSC casino is all non smoking?

Thanks for any information.:)

I can answer a few of your questions . The casino is definitely non smoking . Hooray ! The deposit is normally $100 per person but many times they have a special and they only ask for $49 per person . Not sure of flex time dining, but the buffet is always open at dinner or you could grab a quick meal at the sports bar.

Hope this helps a little .

Thank you. Yes definitely a help. So glad about the casino. On my last cruise on Carnival, it was so bad that I really had to avoid it , especially in the evening. I was curious about the deposits. I just hate to put a large sum of money down so far in advance, but either of these deposits will work for me. I am going to call them tomorrow and most likely book. I have been interested in trying MSC for some time, and Seaside looks wonderful. Thanks again.

You'll need to book your table in advance - especially if you require a table for one. Go see the maitreD' on embarkation day at the allotted time and place for flexi-diners (it's usually in a different venue from the one for set-time diners) and outline what you want.

Sorry for the double post.

Update; I booked!:D It was just 99.00 deposit. Now the long wait...over a year. But still good to have something great to look forward to for next year.:)

Were you able to book a single cabin?

Yes I was able to book a single cabin. Is that not normally possible on MSC?.

I don't know if it's normal or not but I tried to book a single cabin in May and was told I couldn't at that time and to book a double and have the "2nd" person as a no show.

Interesting. I dont know but maybe because I am booking over a year out, that they have a few cabins that they will sell solo? I have no idea really. Or maybe they changed their policy?. Also , I booked Bella class, which is the lowest, inside cabin category.
