Handré running the London marathon

Just to let you know Handré, a cruise director I'm sure many of you will have cruised with is just starting the London Marathon.

He is wearing bib number 36739 if you are watching on BBC 1 in the U.K.

Handré has set up a fundraising page to raise money for Cancer Research if you wanted to show your support in a tangible way.

I have been following Handre on the Virgin Money app and he is currently in the last couple of k's. He must be running so well and is doing a fantastic time. Well done to him.

Just finished in 3 hrs, 12 mins, 53 secs. Really impressive split times, very consistent.

:') Had the pleasure of Handre as our cruise director in February and he was a delight. Helped make our cruise special. (Along with Katy in TK Grill Lounge and Jackie Asst. CD)He was doing some training and whenever I saw him in Colonnade he was eating a lot of fruit and always bananas.

To run that time he has done a lot of training or has a talent for running, but probably he has both. Well done Handre.

He has finished in the top 10% - an amazing effort as I know he has had a couple of niggling runner's injuries in the lead up. His efforts in support of cancer research are superb.

At so many levels he is the best CD Seabourn has - IMO

I agree, we met him for the first time this January/February.

Does anyone know to what ship is Handre going next?

We are back on the Encore in September and Handre said he would be on board, so I guess he will return when he has finished his break.

Agree he's the best CD on Seabourn, possibly of them all, full stop.

Congrats to Handre for a fantastic London marathon result. All those eggwhite omelettes for breakfast obviously worked!

Let us not forget that Handre was taught by the best CD my dear friend Barry Hopkins.

Haven't sailed with Handre yet but I loved Barry. What a lovely gentleman. I loved his "conversations" where he invited anyone who wanted to come into the Boardroom and he threw a topic out there to be discussed among the participants. Simply brilliant.

I also loved Eric DeGray. So talented, full of energy and a delightful chap.

Great showing in the marathon. Congratulations to him. He must be on the tread mills onboard at all hours to be able to train for this. Well done.
