Default Has anyone stayed at the Doubletree Biscayne Bay either pre or post cruise?

Wondering what the facilities are like?

As to why the moderator moved this, I guess they felt it would be a post better suited to the Florida Departures Board....
In any case, my husband I stayed there this past October for 5 nights pre cruise. We had friends joining us for a few nights, so booked a two bedroom suite. Suite was fantastic - incredibly large and very clean. Our only beef was the location. There was a Publix store about two blocks away but other than that, you really needed transportation to get anywhere. If you have a vehicle, I'd say go for it !

View from our balcony at the Doubletree Biscayne Bay:

Hope that helps !

The moderators probably moved this to the Florida Departures area of the forums.

Hey Illinoisfive.....fellow Illinoisan here. I have stayed at the Marriott Biscayne Bay (adjacent to Doubletree...in fact they share a lower level area with shops/dining!!) Both are very nice. If you are interested in breakfast or snack offsite... try The Daily Creative Food Company.... Here is a link:

http://www.thedailycreativefoodco.com/

It is just a short 10 minute stroll north on Biscayne Blvd!! (1 block west and about 4 blocks north of the hotel) Something for everyone. Yummy and reasonable!!

Bayside Market place is south a bit but would be a hike if walking. There is a free metro-mover that picks up just south of the Marriott... here is a link to the MM site:

http://www.miamidade.gov/transit/metromover.asp

We used the MM to get to Bayside area then used a taxi back to the hotel (was about 10 p.m. and just my DD and myself)

We did not have a car and did not have any trouble getting around for 2 days prior to cruise. Even taxied over to South Beach and took in the holocaust memorial (would recommend if you have time). Taxi to SB is about $20.

The restaurant in the lobby of the Doubletree is a great option and there are shopping and fast food dining options located in the covered areas connecting the Doubletree to the next door Marriott and some nearby condo buildings. Several other local dining options within a couple of blocks walk - my favorite is Bin 18 (Biscayne & 18th) for Tapas and an extensive wine and craft beer list!

Ask for a room with a view of the port! The pool area is also great. Good luck!
