Maybe she was just in a foul mood. I thought it was pretty unreasonable of her and she was kinda rude to me. But I wasn't about to be anything but polite back to her. I just Yes Ma'amed and I'm sorryed my way out of there.

I only reported this because I know that at least once, at least to me, it has happened at might happen to someone else someday.

I always carry both bottles in one bag and have never been questioned or had any issues.

Both of (ahem) mine were inside my luggage . She looked at me and held up 2 fingers and I nodded. She never even unzipped my luggage.

On our last B2B we had 6 bottles of wine in one carry on and there was no hassle. (There were 4 adults) the only thing they looked at was the fact we had boarding passes for both cruises. We did all go through the same security line.

They pretty much forced the older kids to go through another line, telling them it was faster that way. (We always have a lot of carryon stuff, meds. CPAP, etc.)

This was also the first port that they opened our 12 packs of sodas (4 of them), took out every can, and then did such a bad job of taping them up, they boxes opened on the way up the gangplank! Hubby was then the one not amused!

Slightly different question. With sodas, do you need to remove them from the box and place them in your bag, or can you just carry the box unopened?

This will be our fifth cruise, but we've never carried any sodas on before. With a drug store near our hotel this time, we might just do it.

Also, does anyone put theirs in the mini fridge? My fear in doing that would be that we'd somehow get charged when we take one out because they'd count fewer in there from day to day, even though we'd placed them there.

It was my wife & I, but we usually end up in different lines.

Yes, we put our carried-on energy drinks and Vitamin Waters in the mini fridge every cruise.

The charge occurs when one of the drinks originally supplied with the cabin is consumed (or goes missing). They don't count the drinks you add to the fridge as part of their stock. They have a list of exactly what was in there when you checked in. So go ahead, use your mini fridge.

We had 3 people and I carried on all 3 bottles of wine in one carryon. I just pointed out all 3 of us and we were good. We also brought on 24 bottles of water and some pop. All of that was together as well.

When we got to the cabin, we just asked the room steward to remove the minibar. He told us that we could remove it and we showed him where we put it. No charges!

Thanks guys! OK, that puts my mind at lese about using the fridge.

So when we buy the drinks, can we carry them on still in the cardboard box they come in, or should we make room in our carryons to pack the cans?

In Baltimore, my wife was carrying our allotment in her roll-on bag. They didn't seem to know or care if we were together. They partially unwrapped the bubble-wrap we had on the bottles (probably to make sure it was wine and not liquor). Quickly looked at the 12 packs of soda (probably to make sure they had not been opened). No problems; no questions asked.

One more question... If there are 6 of us and we bring 6 cases of soda, do we have to carry it around the ship the whole time until we are allowed into our rooms? Are we allowed to drop them off at our room before the room is officially ready? We don't have FTTF or any other status (FTTP is sold out on our sailing).

Yes you have to keep them with you until they open the cabins. There are some who have claimed that the crew will let you drop them off if you find the heavy doors open but I wouldn't count on it.

I travel with parents who end up carrying my water and their wine while I check in through the disabled line. No problems.
