Getting to St. George

Ferry, about 40-45 minutes, bus will be about 60 minutes. Will you have a stroller? There will be more room for one on the ferry and more room in general. Some buses have a place to store them and some do not. You can move around a bit on the ferry but will need to keep a toddler in your lap on the bus and if fussiness decides to kick in, it's harder to deal with.

As stated above, the ferry (Orange Route) is about 40-45 minutes and by far the quickest option.

Bus ( 2 buses are required) from the Dockyard to St. George's is actually about 2 hours...one hour from Dockyard to Hamilton and one hour from Hamilton to St. George's.

There's also the combination of a ferry (Blue Route) from Dockyard to Hamilton, a walk to the Hamilton bus station and a bus from there to St. George's will take about 90 minutes.

You can take a taxi from the Dockyard to St George. It costs $76 plus tip. (4 or less passengers) Took about 50-55 minutes--might take longer if school is in session and you have to wait for school bus stops. We did it last Wednesday and were the first people at Tobacco Bay and had it to ourselves till about 10:30-10:45 when the ferry travelers arrived.

It was nice to see more of the island and had a good conversation with the driver. Not cheap, but much cheaper than an excursion. I have issues standing for long periods of time, so this worked well for us. Have a good trip.
