Where to eat that is w/in walking distance to the Tremont...

Good morning! We (DH, 2 DD and 1 DS along w/myself) are staying at the Tremont House precruise in Nov. I was just wondering if anyone had any suggestions of where to eat that is w/in walking distance to the hotel. Also, the Tremont House's website says they offer airport transportation - anyone have any experience w/this?

The Tremont Hotel is beautiful. Southern Living did a photo shoot around the island this past week and at the Tremont on Thursday for the December issue.

The cyber cafe in the hotel is really good and reasonable. There are numerous restaurants within walking distance: Luigi's (Italian), Sky Bar (Sushi), Gumbo Bar, Saltwater Grill (Louisiana and Medierranean seafood), Rudy and Paco's (5 stars - fabulous), Stork Club (American), Olympia at Pier 21 ( Greek - music on Friday & Saturday nights, perfect view of the port and great food), Courtyard Cafe (German), Mediterranean Chef.

All are within 4 or 5 blocks of the hotel.

Don't know about airport transportation as we live here, but call the hotel and they will advise.

Have a great visit to Galveston.

I would recommend Willie G's or the Olympia Grill. Both are right on the water and if the weather is nice, sitting outside is my wife's preference.
