Copenhagen Oceankaj (Quay C330) transportation questions

Recommended Posts

Danish Viking......thank you for all the information. I can't find the information I need for my particular situation. I'm arriving by airplane..and want to take the Metro to my hotel in Nyhaven. Then, I want to take the bus to the Oceankaj terminal on cruise day. My questions are:...1) Can I buy a all-inclusive travel ticket for both the bus and the Metro?

2) Can I buy it at the airport.....if not....at the Metro station?

3)Should my hotel know where the bus stops are for the bus going to the cruiseport? I'm by myself so I only have myself to depend on....and don't want to look like a lost tourist..even though I probably will be. I've already bought my HOHO bus ticket which will get me around for the sightseeing portion.

Thank you so much for any help. I'm presuming that there are maps at the Metro station so I can figure out the name of the Metro stations and which one I need to exit for my hotel. I'll have Kroner to pay for things....and I understand that most people speak English (thank goodness).

Thank you again.

Joyce

How do I reserve a minivan for 6 persons from the Clarion Copenhagen Airport Hotel (formerly Hilton) to the cruise port for our date of departure? Who do I contact and also get a quote on the cost and any other details?

As Danish Viking pointed out, the hotel reception should be able to call a taxi van for you. The owner of our rental apartment was able to get a taxi van for us early in the morning the day we were leaving Copenhagen.

Luckily one ticket is good for all transportation mode in 1 hour.

From the airport you just pay a 3 zone ticket at the ticket counter or at the ticket machines (Both at terminal 3)

Then you get on the metro towards Vanløse and get off at Kongens Nytorv, search on google maps for directions to your hotel.

When getting to your ship you take bus 26 from Kongens Nytorv towards Indiakaj or Færgeterminal Søndre Frihavn to Østerport station,.

https://www.google.dk/maps/place/Kongens+Nytorv/@55.6791238,12.5854283,18z/data=!4m12!1m6!3m5!1s0x465252e1dd8436f3:0xf29a7ed36ca9f91a!2s%C3%98sterport+St.!8m2!3d55.6920881!4d12.5875633!3m4!1s0x46525317eaf9e71d:0xa414f46a056e792b!8m2!3d55.6792166!4d12.5856764

The trick is not to get off at the first bus stop at Østerport called Folke Bernadottes Allé but at the one just Called Østerport st.

From here you take either bus 25 or 27 to Oceankaj.

I'm staying at the Marriott Copenhagen for 1 night pre NCL cruise. Below is the answer I got from Marriott regarding the shuttle to the cruise terminal from the hotel, just thought I share the info:

I am glad to hear that you will be visiting us here at the Copenhagen Marriott Hotel.

Our shuttle will bus departs from the hotel at 12:30pm.

There is only that 1 departure.

The price for an adult ticket is 125DKK.

And the price for a child ticket is 75DKK (up to the age of 18).

Alternatively you can take a taxi minivan which can hold all 5 of you as well as your luggage.

Please inform me, if you would like me to book any of them for you.

Med venlig hilsen / Best Regards

We just stayed at the Adina Apartment Hotel in June. You will be pleased, I think. The cheapest way is using public transportation. We purchased the Copenhagen Card at the airport that included transportation costs. The Copenhagen Card booth is located outside of the secure area after you get your luggage. That allowed us to take the train (traveling towards Helsingor) to Osterport Station. There you can get on the 26 bus to the Adina. If you go to the end of the platform opposite the station building there is a lift up to the cross over. The problem is there is only a long stairway down to the bus stop. After leaving Osterport Station the bus heads towards the DFDS ferry terminal and then actually loops through Amerika Plads. It is the stop after the ferry terminal for the Adina. The stop is about 50 meters from the hotel. There is a Netto store there as well. Two restaurants are nearby.

On the opposite side of the street of the 26 bus is the bus stop for the 27 bus that goes direct to Oceankaj. It runs every half hour.

Hi, we are flying in the morning of the cruise and taking the RC transfer to the terminal. Does anyone have any info where we can buy wine before boarding our cruise. ? Thank you. Tina

There is a netto supermarked near the airport but its probably a hassleholm to make that one before the shuttle.

Btw How long do you have to wait?

Because if you have time then just take the train to Tårnby or Ørestad and buy the wine there and get back to the airport.

These stations are 4-6 minutes away from the airport.

Else you can take the shuttle to the ship, do the check in and then go out to bus 25 or 27.

Take the bus to Østerport, go to the Irma supermarked buy some wine and get the bus back to the pier.

  • 3 weeks later...

We (two adults with one 4-yr old) need some advice on the transportation to and from the Ocean Quay Berth331. We will have one 25 incher suit case, two carry on and a stroller.

We will be staying very close to the central station, Should we just take the taxi considering the luggage amount?

If taking bus, which one would make more sense, Bus 25 or 27? I understand that they leave from different train stations.

Our return flight is noon the day post-cruise, so we will be staying somewhere, trying to get last grasp of the city (ship returns 7am supposedly). Any recommendation of the areas? Is central station still a good choice?

Another thing is, as our time in Copenhagen is so fragmented, I figured 24 hr passes are not gonna be utilized fully, I'm planning buying a Rejsekort flex (or anonymous if flex would not work, already got forms ready). I heard adding additional passenger on bus is done by the driver, will it be a major pain? I originally only plan to use metro or train mostly, but for the trip to/from cruise terminal, bus rides is inevitable now.

TIA

You just have to tell the driver that you have to check in more persons BEFORE you scan the card. at stations you just use the machines.

It doesn´t matter if you use bus 25 or 27, both stops at Østerport or you can continue on 25 to Nørreport.

From here you just catch any soutbound train and get off at the central station.

Thanks for the quick reply, Danish viking. Your contribution here was all over tripadvisor forum as well : )

What I meant to ask is which train station is more tourist friendly in terms of getting off and getting to the bus station (with 3 cases and one stroller). I saw a few posts about the Osterport station, which seems to be a bit hike. Is that the case? Our first trip would be from central station, so we can decide to hop off at the easier station to catch the bus to terminal.

Just booked the post-cruise hotel, which is Hotel Osterport, which is right on the Osterport station, so we can take 25 or 27, check in or store the luggage at least, and spend the rest of the day going around (any recommendation sites around there? Kastellet is close by, that I knew.) Then we just hop on the metro next morning to CPH.

@Danish Viking

This might be a little off-topic, but can you tell me if Rejsekort Flex card needs to change the zone setting if I want to use it from Copenhagen to Helsingor. I read their site and it seems only mention the need of zone setting change (from standard to dsb) on the Rejsekort Anonymous card. Just want to make sure. I'm a seasoned public transportation user and still feel intimidated by this card.

Well Østerport is currently under reconstruction and there is no elevator from the pedestrian bridge and down to the bus stops so Nørreport is probably a better choice if you need an elevator.

Only downside by using Nørreport is that you have fewer busses to choose from.

Rosenborg is also close to Østerport and generally everything in Copenhagen is in walking distance so you have a few options.

But you can first take the metro from Østerport in 20:19 :-)

If you are going to the airport (if thats what you mean with CPH) then you can just take the Øresund Train from Østerport instead, it goes every 10 minute.

What they mean is that you have to check in every time you change from bus to metro or train. So lets say you are going from Østerport to the Zoo.

You check in at the platform to take the train, At the central station you don´t check out but walk up to the 6A bus and check in again (if you have choosen more persons on one trip you don´t have to do that again).

When the bus stops at the Zoo you just check out.

But are you ordering the card in advance because I´m not sure you can just buy it like the Oyster Card in London.

I had to order my Rejsekort in advange but that is maybe because its a personalized card with my name?

Hi, We arrive on Regal Princess at Oceankaj on May 21, 2018 and the earliest disembarkation is the 6:30 to 7:30 am time slot but Princess says there is a chance we won't get off until closer to 7:30 am. We have a 10:30 am flight to Dublin. Do you think we can take public transportation to the airport and make it in time to check in for the flight?

If so, what bus and train do we take and where to transfer? Where can we purchase the ticket at the cruise ship terminal Oceankaj?

And lastly, is there a risk the bus will fill up at Oceankaj stop? Trying to avoid the Princess transfer if possible and they said there is a minimum two hour wait for a taxi.

On a related note, what is the minimum check in time for a flight from Copenhagen to Ireland (with a non EU country passport if that matters)?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

I think Princess is NOT being honest with you. WHY is there a minimum wait of 2 hours for a taxi, if you are first off the ship and immediately get on line for the taxi. If you keep your luggage with you and get on line ASAP, you should be first off the ship. That is what we did and we were getting 2 taxi vans. They were waiting at the taxi aria and we were at the airport in less than 30 minutes.

I would NOT take public transportation. I did it last year, so things may have changed.

It depends on the airline..

I think that SAS is around 45 minutes (maybe its 35 but check with your airline)

I don't know about Norwegian and Ryanair but 45 is not completely off the mark.

The airport will probably recommend you to be at the airport 2 hours before but they also want you to spend money in the shops :p

But 1 hour to 1:30 before is probably a good idea to allow for lines at check in and security.

Irland is in EU so no need to go through the passport control.

To take the bus I have made a guide on page 7 in my Wonderful Copenhagen thread.
