Transportation to Christiansted and buck island

Going to be in st croix for a day in June on our cruise. Wanted to go to buck island and I found a shuttle boat that will take us there leaving Christiansted harbor at 900am. Our schedule for the cruise says we dock at 6am so will that give us enough time to get a rent car and get to the other end of the island for our shuttle boat to buck island.
