Piraeus for the day??

We have been to Athens multiple times and would like to just find a nice area to walk a bit and have a local lunch, perhaps on a waterfront. Any suggestions? Thanks.

We were in Piraeus in October 2015. While we didn't go ashore, we saw a small tram/train making the rounds between ships.

We found out that the cost was $5 RT to be taken to an area with lots of restaurants and a couple of shops. The couple we spoke to said there was nothing exciting but it was a nice area for a stroll and a light bite to eat.

Now that Piraeus is an immigrant port it has changed. Security is more intense.

There is a nice museum a short walk from the pier along with an interesting church. Take a left from the terminal to the area where the trams leave. The church is around the corner, check a map for the museum but it is up the hill and half way down on the left.

I think you're talking about the Archaeological Museum? I agree it's a nice, small museum well worth visiting. They have some bronze statues there that rival anything in the National Archaeological Museum in Athens.
