Can we taxi to Bananarama or West Bay Beach rather than book excursion?

Hi All,

I am wondering if you can help me with this. We would like to go to Bananarama or another West Bay Beach (crowds are fine) but don't like the idea of having to stay as long as Shoreexcursioneers excursion is set for, which is 6 hours total, 4.5 hours at the beach. That will likely be longer than we would like. Can we pick up a "tour", shuttle, or taxi at the port, but be assured we will get back easily? Thanks for any advice :-)

You can set up an excursion directly with Bananarama or Beachers that will give you use of their facilities and round trip transportation where you can come back to the ship whenever you want. Google them for their websites and information.

You can take a taxi to West Bay or West End. Beaches are public. You can stop at any club/restaurant and get something to eat and drink. You may even be able to rent a lounger, but better off bringing towels to lay on. The difficulty will lie when you want to return. You will need to arrange with your taxi driver for a pickup at a certain time. You might be able to ask at the front desk of any resort for them to call you a taxi (others here need to confirm that you can do this if you're not a guest) . Taxis do not "patrol" the beach area looking for fares, nor is there taxi stands at beach clubs/resorts. Plus, you may find that round trip taxi fare plus food and drink costs will be nearly equal to the costs of the packages you can get from the resorts.
