Lake Barcroft Sailor Posted February 6, 2013 #1 Share Posted February 6, 2013 The passenger internet service is rediculously slow and, at times, impossible to use. Are there any plans to increase the band withdth of the service on board the ships?
dencruise80 Posted February 6, 2013 #2 Share Posted February 6, 2013 I agree that the internet onboard Cunard is terrible. I used 4 hours on the Queen Victoria in the last 2 weeks and could only download the headers of the emails. The Queen Mary 2 is just as bad. The internet does not even improve while in port. I had to use the internet in the park in Huatulco, Mexico.
Peter Shanks Posted February 18, 2013 #3 Share Posted February 18, 2013 Along with our sister lines we are exploring ways to improve this. We are all so used to the speed of our internet at home and at work - but you have to remember at sea we have to work through satellites. However - we must find ways of improving the service and more on that as the project develops. Best Regards. Peter
silviarudy Posted July 3, 2013 #4 Share Posted July 3, 2013 Agree INTERNET is very important to many customers. I am sure the Military has fast communication on their ships ??? Looking forward to see this improving VERY soon. I am sure it is only a question of "money" and how much it will cost - not if the technology is available. Thanks Silvia
silviarudy Posted July 3, 2013 #5 Share Posted July 3, 2013 Just did some math: I believe 35.- a week per customer should cover the expenses for fast Internet . If 1500 out of 2000 on board take the deal : 52'000 .- dollars a week Silvia
