Quest Dry Dock 2016

We are booked on the Norwegian Fjords Cruise starting Aug 11, 2016. Just noticed that the Quest will be disembarking in Stockholm on August 2 and then we are the next cruise on the schedule.

Seems like a perfect amount for a the dry dock I understand is scheduled for 2016 or it could be a charter. Anybody know what will go on between Stockholm and our boarding on Aug. 11??

Thanks in advance for any comments,

No, it's worse: the cruise before ours is a hedonistic charter.

A bit disturbing but, hopefully the ship will be well cleaned after the previous cruise. Anybody know the dry dock schedule for Quest in 2016 and if it will be before our cruise??

Thanks,

Hi Host Jazzbeau,

I Googled it, and it's a Couples Only charter that reports to be a "Baltic Debauchery" sailing with clothing optional areas. I bet that's going to be one hot time LOL. While I suspect these types of sailings may upset the Azamara faithful... from a business perspective, Azamara will probably make a ton of $$$ on charter business, and I really cant blame them for making the sale.

Outside of cruising - which, in addition to my family and my career are my true passions... I lead a relatively quiet life. Maybe I should try a cruise like that one day.... though I doubt that many of our members would care to see me naked :)

At any rate, I hope it works out well for Azamara.

Anyone know any other cruise lines that would do this, let alone in prime European cruise time?

Sure. Cruise lines have chartered ships for nude cruises, swingers cruises, along with other group sailings, tailored to folks with all sorts of interests. It's nothing new.

While this is a peak Europe season sailing... as mentioned in my last post, I can only presume Azamara received a very favorable offer. In that case, it would make sense for them to make the sale, and not have to worry about filling the ship over the next 20 months.

I remember a certain high end cruise line that had a topless area for ladies. Bythe time I found the area you could no longer go topless.. i wish most ships had their top deck like that. if the cruise us couples only does not sound like a swingers cruise or a meat market cruise.

I read this last night before I went to bed, and actually had nightmares about it. Explain further about the "clothing optional areas"....buffet, MDR, deck? If people are sitting in public areas with their fannies bare, how much cleaning would be required before the next embarkation....and would there be time to sufficiently do this?

Thanks all, I did finally find the Dry Dock Schedule for Quest and it is the end of Sept, beginning of October 2015 and appears to be a 16 day dry dock so expect lots of work will be done.

And, Nancy, I also found information regarding the cruise before ours and have copied it below from the sponsor's website. Based on the below, don't think we have to worry too much about getting the ship cleaned before we board:

Standards of Behavior

Nudity is only allowed on the pool & Sun decks (9, 10, 11) & in the Looking Glass room. Please note that you cannot go nude in any elevator; you must be covered. No nudity is allowed in the restaurants, casino, shops, atrium, lounges, or other public places not mentioned above. Please sit on a towel at all times if nude, it’s just common courtesy. In going to the Looking Glass, please wear a robe or cover up. Public display of sexual activity is strictly prohibited; failure to adhere to this will result in the passengers being ejected from the ship without refund. All paid passengers will be expected to abide by and sign a “policy of behavior statement” prior to departure.

I'm no expert, but isn't that the main market for a swingers cruise?

There are many cruise lines chartering weeks throughout the year for these type of cruises. Azamara have strict rules on where the "activities" can take place on the ship and thorough housekeeping standards and duties in force.

I "googled" it and RC Independence of the Seas, Azamara, and Celebrity Silhouette host them. MSC Divina and AMA waterways, also.

I had seen the website Host Andy found, and I thought "Baltic Debauchery" summed it up pretty well. And yes, I hope the crew will be out (and in my cabin) cleaning super-well.

Is there any way to tip IN ADVANCE? ;)

Hi Everyone,

I rarely comment on moderation, but a few points must be stated :

1. I highly recommened that you take a few moments to review our Guidelines : http://boards.cruisecritic.com/faq.php?faq=guidelines . Here's some important information from our Guidelines, which pertain to what transpired.

Postings that have been placed on the boards to disrupt the flow of conversation or otherwise disrupt Cruise Critic members' enjoyment of the Community will be removed and you run the risk of losing your posting privileges. This would include, but is not limited to, the posting of essentially the same message over and over in response to different threads on the forums or utilizing the features of our Community to transmit messages of a personal nature.

Also disrupting to the Community is Thread hijacking which is the act of trying to steer a web forum discussion thread off topic by discussing a subject entirely unrelated to the original topic. This would also include making references to the original poster, or even to OTHER posters, that have nothing to do with the subject at hand.

We realize that in some instances, this happens naturally. However, it does appear to be intentional by certain members. Please be considerate of your fellow members; posting off topic within a discussion -- 'hijacking' -- is boring and only wastes everyone's time. Think twice and, for some of you, even three times before posting off topic in an existing discussion: not "thinking" may result in loss of your posting privileges on Cruise Critic.

Please note that the determination of what constitutes "disruption" will be the sole determination of the Community Manager.

Discussion of removed posts :

Posts may be removed from our forums at the sole discretion of Cruise Critic without notification to the author or discussion participants. We may also MOVE a post to our Floataway Lounge that has veered off the original topic. All decisions regarding post removals are final.

2. I hope we can all agree the previous conversaion was entirely off-topic, and unsuitable for a family friendly forum.

3. One of the many things I've observed over the years : when threads constantly go off-topic, it usually means that everything useful which can be said, has likely been stated. Therefore, I'm closing this thread.

Whether you have been a member of our wonderful Cruise Critic community for 10 minutes, or for 10 years... *Please* take a few moments to review our Guidelines ! Thank very much for your understanding and participation.
