Meliá Nassau Beach in Nassau

Has anyone been to this resort on a day pass while visiting on a cruise? We are interested in seeing pics from fellow cruisers not just the stock photos that are posted.

I would post this on the Bahamas thread, on the Ports of Call boards. You will probably get better response -- and there is a ton of information there about all of the ports.

I've been on Cable Beach several weeks on land vacays. It is a very nice stretch of beach. There are 3 hotels here, and also a casino. The local ladies will ask to braid your hair or offer aloe massages, which you can accept or decline. Food will be expensive, unless it is included in your excursion price. It's about a 15 or 20 minute ride from the port, and you'll be able to glimpse your ship from a distance.

They had floats, kayaks and a water trike, plus the paddleboard. They were included in the price of the day pass.

Hi- We were there when it was the Sheraton and then were there in March.

The Melia has just about the same exterior as in the photos.

It has a redone interior.

We enjoy the pools and beach there. Big pools.

If a shuttle is available, then the price per person is $5. Otherwise, it's $15 for 2 ppl. $3 for ea. add'l person. Plus tip, of course.

Day passes are $30pp, 1/2 price for kids. $50 with lunch, $75 with buffet, and $110 with food and drinks.

Non-motorized water sports are included, as well as snorkeling gear. (not well fitted).

Is the snorkeling good there? Any particular area to go?

Snorkeling from shore is not good anywhere along the shore . It's way overused. Melia has a man made rock formation that houses some juvenile fish and other sea life. It's not a reef, but it's ok for having a little fun.

If you are looking for good snorkeling, you'll need a boat trip to the sea gardens, rose island or the south side of the island.
