Solo on Bingo Cruise

Thinking of booking a bingo cruise. I'll be sailing solo (which I usually do), so I'm used to paying double. Since the bingo cruise cost includes the cost of the bingo games, do you think they will discount me the cost of the 2nd passenger's games?

It would be helpful to have an idea of how they handle this before I call the agent to book.

Hi Roz,

I am booked as a solo on the Bingo Cruise on the Oasis of the Seas on Dec 5th. Since there are two different Bingo Tournament Cruises, i contacted both coordinators with questions and one of the questions was about solo costs.

They both told me that I would pay double for the cruise portion of the cost, but not the bingo tournament.

For example, the Bingo Cruise on Oasis for the package that is just the cruise and tournament, an inside is $1095 with two people in the room, but a solo in the room will cost $1600.

I do not know the exact costs of the Bingo Tournament on the Carnival Breeze on Nov 7th for a solo, but when I talked with them they told me that I would not pay $1625x2.

Thanks,

Kim

Kim,

Thank you so much for stopping by and answering my question! That's what I thought would be the case. I'm used to paying double for cabins, but for something like a game buy in, I figured they would cut solos a break.

No problem, i found your question by fluke.

I am not sure about the Carnival Bingo Tournament, but I know for the Oasis Tournament there are a few people in the roll call that will be participating.

If you decide to do that one, come join us in the Roll Call. It's a little slow at the moment, but I am sure it will pick up.

Hey Kim, so great to know there are other folks interested in bingo. I'm not too up on bingo etiquette but my disabled mother in law is a bingo FANATIC. We would like to take her on one of the two you mentioned - Carnival or Oasis.

I will be calling both coordinators to confirm if an escort (ie either my husband or one of her nieces, none of whom play bingo) can get the fare sans bingo cost, which per your post seems likely, and for how much.

But...did you get a feel for which one would be better? Obviously you're going with the Oasis - any particular reasons why? Itinerary? Quality of bingo play? Quality of ship (staterooms, other entertainment, etc)? Price? Other factors?

Just trying to find the best fit for my MIL - she's 76, can hardly hear, she's got advanced rheumatoid arthritis and can barely get around with a cane now...this is going to be probably the biggest hurrah of her life (she comes from an extremely modest background) so I want this to be as perfect as possible for her.

Any insights you could share would be much appreciated!!!!
