Spiders

Hi. I am an arachnophobe and we are going to Belize in April. I started doing research for excursions and I noticed people posting some pictures of large spiders there :eek: Should I just stay on the ship?

I would recommend just staying away from areas of vegetation where they spin their webs. I don't recall seeing a spider over six trips to the Caribbean, and I like spiders.

For those of you who are like me, and hate spiders - I'm glad I didn't go on the cave tubing tour. We met someone who did, and they said a tarantula was in the middle of the trail they walked on and the guide picked it up! Yikes!!!!

We were just there a week and a half ago for cave tubing and yes i remember seeing pictures while doing research for excursions about big spiders. they are black tarantulas. I dont like spiders either but I still walked along the trail to the river and the tour guide and I were deliberately searching for them. We didnt see any or any trace of them though. I was just looking to photograph one close up. I'm a hobbyist photographer and really wanted to find one to photograph up close. tarantulas are harmless anyway.
