Giants Causeway tours

In addition to what the ship asks, there appear to be a number of independant bus companies that offer similar tours for much less. Just wondering if anyone has any recommendations or perhaps has used mini coach and if so, what did you think?

What did you think about their tour? Would you recommend it?

It was basically the same tour the ship offered at a lesser price.

The Belfast port was not my favorite. Dublin is much, much nicer.

Belfast as a cruise stop is only starting to take off - remember it is a working port - rumours are that a new cruise terminal might be build close to the Titanic slipway. You are only 15mins from the Town centre.

Sorry i can't help with tour companies.

Ditto what Coxswain said. We are only just taking off as a cruise destination but what we lack in polish we make up for in hospitality or keeness to welcome vistors. We are also growing as travel destination in general. We are putting a lot of effort into being a great place to holiday. Because of that while we may not have the polish of Dublin you are much more likely to get a personalised experience.

There is a tour office in Belfast City Centre right near the City Hall and tours that leave from the city centre. I can't reccommend one because I have never been on one.

Here is some information about the Glens and the Causeway. The Giants Causeways and the Carrick-a-rede rope bridge are not to be missed.

We returned last week from the Century British Isles cruise. In Belfast we used Black Cab Tours NI for our tour. Alan took us to Carrickfergus Castle, then drove up the Antrim Coast to Giants Causeway. After our stop at Giants Causeway we returned to Belfast to see the murals. The Tour was fantastic. Cost was 180 pounds, which we split with another cruise critic couple. This was one of the highlights of our trip.

You may also be interested in the Belfast webcam which shows around the dock ara - takes a bit of getting used to operating it! On the 'Odyssey' cam shot you will see the tender boat from the Titanic, The Oceanic. It is hoped to restore the ship to its former glory. I believe tours are possible, but not sure of times.
