Hmmm....We will be in Barcelona in less than a year and ready to begin our Grand Med leg on the Royal Princess on September 27th!!!

Looks like we will be taking Air Transat and trying their Club Class even though it gets us to Barcelona a couple days earlier than we had planned for a few reasons. One, Club Class is less than the return flight in economy on Air Canada and less than half the price of a one-way. Two, I am a little nervous about only using one part of a return ticket and risking AC charging us. We will just have to get to Montreal but Air Transat has partnered with Via Rail so that looks good, and we will have the entire day to get there. Our hotel in Barcelona has confirmed availability so we are good to go!

Thanks for the advice. Michele, you should really check them out as the prices for their one-way flights to Venice are very reasonable.

Looks like the best of all worlds. Since we don't plan to leave until October 6 most airlines don't have fares for us yet.

Hi all,

we will probably fly Air Transat from Montreal, will also try Club Class, we will keep checking the fares and maybe fly into Paris or Rome depending on the price and stay a couple of days there or the other option is arriving in Venice on Saturday and doing some day trips from there. I sure like the idea of the direct flight to Venice.

Okay, all you West Coasters. What do you think is the lowest fares and best routes to Barcelona?
Since too early to get any fares, did a mock booking. One way fares are outrageously high. May have to buy round trip ticket (so much cheaper)
and figure another trip .
Right now best routes I found were from LAX or San Diego on US air,
to Phila, then direct to Barcelona. Price really high right now.
The cheapest today is Air Berlin, LAX to Dusseldorf, then direct flight to Barcelona.
Anyone else find anything that looks good?
American airlines has direct flight(BA) to Heathrow from San Diego but the connection to Barcelona is many hours wait at airport. Want to arrive in the morning so we can enjoy our day and evening before the cruise .AA flights with connections get us there in the evening.

My daughter brought this to my attention. There are some people who are skilled at finding the best airline deals. For a small finders fee they will do are the research and get you the best deal. Their website is flightfox.com
I think it will only be beneficial if you have complicated travel plans. May be west coast people will find it useful. Here is an article about it. http://www.frugaltravelguy.com/2012/...ings-easy.html
I think Carolyn should join up as she is a good flight hacker. People can pay her the finder

Air Transat out of Montreal Friday Oct 4th,2013 is 661.00 direct flight to Venice.

Seems to be the Friday is the only day they fly to Venice.

Hi Jo,

Have you considered flying to Rome and taking the high-speed train? I see flights leaving from both Montreal and Toronto on Tuesday and Saturday. These may suit your schedule better.

Hi Denise,

Yes we are considering that option, but we are also thinking of going to London for a few days prior and taking a BA flight to Venice.

Decisions, decisions

Gloria,

At this point, we're looking at the RSW to PHL, then non stop to BCN. If the prices don't come down, we'll do the Air Berlin out of Miami.

Hope the S. California M&G was a huge success.

Yikes I did some more phantom bookings for flights from LAX to VCE at the end of September. I also did some yesterday. Prices have drastically increased. Kinda scares me about what we'll see in several weeks when we will be able to start booking our flights.....

Bob,
go to 1800flyeuropedotcom
I just booked San Diego to Barcelona at a fraction of the cost going direct to any airline. It is with American airlines. Got it for 578.00 which included all taxes per person . We are flying San Diego to JFK then a direct flight to
Barcelona. See what it will be for Venice. Had I booked direct with AA
cost would have been 2000.00

Your welcome Lynda.
Our flight booked and paid for so we can relax and just wait.
Any changes of seats or selections can be made direct on the airline that you purchase through this site. I changed our seats and bought exit row, more legroom seats and did this direct on AA website (my booking). Glad
that site lets us go direct once you booked and paid for the flights.
