Evening hours for shops in Hamilton?

Does anyone know if the shops in Hamilton typically stay open into the evening or close up around 5-6pm?

We would love to check out Hamilton and browse some of the shops one evening of our June cruise (but want to avoid the crowds of Harbour Nights and go a different night).

They're generally not open after about 5. Many do stay open later for Harbour Nights.
