Always takes me to the end of each weekly thread to post photos - my photos typically don't get taken or processed until the following weekend, so with this week's May 1-7 dates posted on May 1, I won't have anything to post until the May 6-7 weekend, and then I likely won't have them sorted and uploaded until late into the next week!

So, here are my shots from May 6 and 7, in the Florida wetlands:

A limpkin chick:

A tricolor heron in mating colors, in a pond apple tree over the water:

A roseate spoonbill flying by in the clear blue skies:

A great egret mom with her two chicks:

Circle of life...warning - a little bit graphic for those who don't like seeing the circle of life in actual practice....

Last warning...don't look if you don't like animals eating animals...

OK...

An alligator needs to eat too - in this case, he got a tricolor heron who didn't pay close enough attention while wading through the water:

Whenever we cruise, I struggle to find things to shoot on the ship that I haven’t shot a dozen times before. My habit of waking before sunrise doesn’t change on vacation, so I am often up wandering the ship looking for interesting subjects before the obligatory sunrise photos. A couple of days into our latest trip, I took a picture of the pool area a little before sunrise and had the idea to go back in the noon-ish hours to retake the photo with the bright sun and oily people. The next time I try this, I will take more care to mark the exact spot I took it from so I don't have to do so much editing to match up the two images. Not quite perfect, but I like it well enough to make it my choice for Week Eighteen.

Marble Arch Caves - Northern Ireland. These are the boats in the cave you take a couple hundred yards to the start of the system.

This is a little trippy...The features you see in the middle left of the image are reflections of the ceiling in water.
