belize with a 3 year old and a 7 month old??? suggustions? Beach places/shopping are mainly what we are looking for but open to anything that we could do with kiddos that young.

The Belize zoo is very nice. Your 3 y/o might enjoy that. My kids all loved the zoo at that age(and still do!).

I'm looking for things to do with our 2 and 4 year old as well! It seems like all of the popular things aren't our cup of tea, but the chocolate shop/tour at the port does sound like a fun little activity. I have found some interesting things in Cozumel and Isla Roatan, but am coming up a bit short for Belize.

My boys are 6 and 9 and we still do not know what we are doing either. They have no interest in cave tubing or the ruins. My friends did the Moho Chocolate Factory Tour a few months back. They said it lasted about 5 minutes, the employee was very nice and knowledgable and the samples were well worth the $2 fee. But they suggested if that was the only thing we were going ashore for, we should not bother.

I am still trying to pick something. I just do not want to stay on the ship at a port we have never visited.

May I ask what you have found for Cozumel and Roatan? We are going to Roatan, Belize, Cozumel, and Costa Maya in December and I'm still trying to find the best to do with toddlers.

We found a few different things, but we have run into some major vet bills after somebody shot our cat so we have cut way back on our port activities. :(

Let me see if I can remember what we had planned. In Cozumel, we planned on hiring a driver for the day and going on the Kaokao chocolate tour, Punta Sur National Park, and the small ruins (forget the name). In Roatan, we were going to hire a driver to go to the West End and West Bay. Sorry, I don't remember exactly what we were going to do at those places. My kids aren't too comfortable in the water so snorkeling is out, we're not fans of the concept of zoos, I don't know if a whole day of ruins would hold their attention, etc so it seems like a lot of popular activities were quickly marked off our list.

That may not help you since it's probably not the traditional toddler activities, but I hope that you have a wonderful time with whatever you decide to do! :)

resurrecting this thread in hopes someone can come up with a few suggestions for us. We will be in Belize for our cruise in early December. We have a 9 year old boy and 3 year old girl. Any help would be great and MUCH appreciated. I do know about the zoo tour. Looking for other ideas.

I have booked a city tour and ruins visit with Experience Belize Tours. We are doing beach days everwhere else, and this seems like the best option for my family (3 and 6 years old).

I am actually traveling with a 9,7,4 and a 2 year old. We are doing Goff's Caye for the day. There is a boat ride out and then on a small Caye with shallow water for the kids to play on or snorkeling for the older ones. Any kid under 5 I have found with several different excursion companies are free.

I wanted to follow up for everyone traveling with small children. We got on the first tender off of the ship to the port and there was someone waiting there with our names on a list. He escorted us to the desk where we were checked in and paid for the excursion. Since Belize was an hour behind ship time, we had some time to kill so we did some shopping. Once ready, we all were given life vests and boarded the boat for the 25-30 min ride out to the island. The kids did great on the boat ride out and back. You go right back out past the cruise ships, so the kids were excited to see all of the boats and little houses on the water.

Once there you all get off the boat and drop your stuff off on the island. The 9 year old was the only one that went snorkeling and he had a blast. The other three boys (7,4 and 2) stayed on shore and played in the water which was very shallow. We were probably 50 yards off shore and it was only waist deep, so the 4 year old thought it was great. The 7 year old did not need water wings or anything, he was fine to float by himself with us out there. The 2 year old we did bring a blow up float that he was able to float and play in. Surprisingly enough there were a decent about of kids there.

The food on the island was average. The lobster was great, the chicken was dry, and the boys loved the hotdogs. I think it was $4 for two hotdogs, so it was reasonably priced. Over all, highly recommend this excursion!!
