Wink Weather tips for New England cruises in early September

I want to book a cruise leaving New Jersey and going to Quebec city. The 11 day cruise is set for September 8 to 19 on Royal Caribbeans Explorer of the seas. I would like to know what we can expect weather wise, this time of year. Thank you

Weather can run the gamut. Usually, its still warm, but it will start to get cooler. Possibly a bit of rain too. Also, though unlikely, there is always the chance of a snowstorm. Its unlikely, but could happen.

Highs could be up to the low 80's. Lows could get to the high 30's.

Bring lots of layers, and pay attention to the daily forecasts. It can easily be 40 degrees at 8AM and 65 by 2PM, and back to 45 by 9PM

Layers, shouldnt need much more than a fleece for outer. Bring a rain coat just incase. Here is an excellent tool to judge the foliage each year... http://www.yankeefoliage.com/peak-foliage-forecast-map/

I did the Caribbean Princess sailing on 9/10/11, had perfect weather. Highs in the low-mid 70's most days. Sister was way over dressed and got into a rather good arguement about her taking the sweatshirt off and just going with the long sleeve tee and windbreaker. This was in Newport doing one of the mansion tours.

I watched the weather the week before we sailed and tweaked the wardrobe accordingly.

Plan to layer.
Bring a jacket, with hood and even a zip out lightweight liner if you have one.
You could get lucky with cool mornings but sunny, warm afternoons........ or you could have raw, cold, rain. No way to know in advance.

As others have said weather is unpredictable.

I would not worry about it and it is a nice time to cruise.
