Getting to Blarney Castle

Our Azamara cruise recently changed it's itinerary from Waterford to Cork. Unfortunately Butler buses/ecoach is not putting a bus on for our day in port. Does anyone have any other suggestions for our day in port which would include a trip to Blarney Castle?

You could do it yourself. Train to Cork Kent Station from Cobh - check out http://www.irishrail.ie for prices & times. Then it's a short walk across to get the No. 224 bus to Blarney. It leaves from Merchants Quay (outside Dunnes Stores) http://www.buseireann.ie will give you more info. It costs €10 to get into Blarney Castle.

Did you contact Butler's or are you going by their website. Maybe they don't know about the change of port and might want to accommodate the ship.

Yes I contacted them. They will only have private vans that day.

Unfortunately ecoach isn't running a tour that day so will probably try the train/bus as suggested earlier.
