Need Advice on Transfer from Galveston to Hotel

My wife and I have decided to stay in Houston for a couple days after our cruise. 3 or 4 years ago i was in Houston for Wrestlemania and stayed in the Galleria area which I really enjoyed. I enjoyed it so much I booked us a hotel stay at the Hilton near the mall.

I am wondering when we get back into Galveston Pier should we:

a. Take the Cruise Shuttle back to Hobby then a taxi to the hotel?

or

b. Take a cab directly from the cruise terminal to the Hilton?

Not sure what would be cheaper (or if it would be about the same)
