Costa to get 2 new ships

Costa is to get two new LNG ships, to be built in Finland:

Carnival Corp Euroleans brands have done well, getting 4 of the recently annouced new builds.

The only negative part, for me; is that the new ships will accommodate up to 6600 passengers, not my cup of tea.

Far far too big and how would Costa be able to fill them ?

The ships won't enter service for another 5 years. The only economic prediction I make that far out is that Greece will be demanding another bail-out. The shipyard probably needs new contracts and gave them a good deal.

If one is based in Savona for western Med, then every port will probably be an embarkation port, you won't have the 6600 passenger everybody-on, everybody-off zoo.

By using a very large shoe horn. So much smaller than Oasis or Allure but 600 more passengers. Gonna be very congested.

Cabin layout on the new Costa ships, with room service (also looks like All Inclusive Drink Package is doing the rounds).

Doesn't look like too many are excited about Costa adding two new megaships.
