Tulum and Play del Carmen

We will be in Calica in March on the Elation. For those who have ported here before, are there drivers who will take you to Tulum, wait for you, then take you to Play del Carmen for some shopping? From Playa, is it easy to find a taxi back to the ship? Any estimates as to the cost for hiring a driver or taxi for the trip to Tulum and then to Playa?

Hey Cap,

Taxis are pretty pricey. We took one to Yal Ku Lagoon that ran $30 one way and that is about half way to Tulum. You might want to check with Edventures. They can set something like this up and probably be a lot cheaper than a DIY. They have good reviews.

You can do it easy on your own, taxis are a bit pricey but at least the driver will wait for you to return and take you anywhere

My work (military) has blocked the Edventures website - says its not safe due to phishing.
