Grandeur cabin question

Sailing the Garndeur for the first time in March. Just wondering if the balcony cabins have a regular mini fridge note not the cold plate type. Thanks.

Yes, cooler in balcony staterooms.

It should have.....and if it does, it's the normal "dorm cube" fridge that all of the cabins have. If it's in a cabinet, keeping the cabinet door ajar helps it cool better.

no cabins have fridges.. only coolers

They look like fridges to me. Just wondering why you would call them coolers.

If we leave the cabinet door ajar and make sure there is no ice build up in the back of the fridge we have always found it to keep things cold.

Because they are not capable of fridge temperatures. They are really coolers and will not keep anything as cool as a refrigerator will. They can make a soda/water cool enough to drink but they really aren't intended to keep drinks like milk fresh for very long. I don't think they go much below 50 degrees which is much warmer than a refrigerator is.

Well, all I can say is we have always had a cold fridge in our rooms and have kept milk in there for several days with no problem.

You do have to prop the cabinet door open though.

Most have converted to what I call "cold plates". It is a metal plate on the bottom that the product sits on and that plate gets cold but it does not get as cold as true refridgerator. That is why I asked the question. I really need a regular mini fridge which I know can be requested through RC.

There were no cold plates on the Grandeur earlier this year when I was on the ship. To my knowledge they still have the mini-fridge.

Ok so I can expect that I will have a cooler/mini fridge/ cold plate something or other to cool drinks in my cabin? We are in a large oceanview.

Unless there has been a change from last February, there are no fridges/coolers in the Ocean view rooms (other than POV).

We had to get one from special needs in an ocean view cabin on Grandeur. We needed it for medication.
