I contacted a blue-flag taxi driver and set up a tour for next week. This was part of his email:

"The cost for 1-4 people is $60 an hour and the tours are around 5 hrs."

Has the government locked the rate at $50 per hour?

The taxi rates are $50 an hour for a Blue Flag taxi. That is regulated by the government. Perhaps his tour is not a taxi tour. That's all I can think of. He might not be using a taxi. For example he might say he is a blue flag ambassador but that does not mean he is driving a taxi. It might only mean he took he training....just speculating.

Of course I could think of another reason but I would rather not.....
