Wow! So calm and no float ice. Not calving much I take it. Looking forward to being there in a couple weeks.

There was lots of ice, but sadly not much calving during the time we were there.

Nice when there is bigger chunks of ice because it is easier to spot otters hitching a ride.

Lots of people like Glacier Bay and I do agree that the area is magnificent. But, Hubbard Glacier is my favorite and I am looking forward to a second visit in July.

Thank you for the replies and pictures! We'll be there in two weeks and I was also wondering what the conditions were like lately.

Hubbard was on our itinerary for our NCL Sun cruise last week, but after sailing all the way from Icy Strait Point, we turned around and left without even getting a glimpse of the glacier. Too much ice...too much fog. :(

We got in pretty close to Hubbard Glacier on May 31st. on Celebrity Infinity..Very clear day and warm. Some people even up on deck in shorts.

Not alot of calving but we still got alot of nice photo's

We got quite close on the Solstice on 5/22. Captain did a couple of "donuts" so all had a good view. Watched everything from our balcony.

We got in pretty close to Hubbard Glacier on May 31st. on Celebrity Infinity..Very clear day and warm. Some people even up on deck in shorts.

I went on the Star Princess and arrived at Hubbard Glacier on May 28th (I believe) and I wasn't impressed at all. Was anyone on the Star that week and does anyone know how far we got from hubbard? I just wasn't impressed, but maybe we just didnt get close enough - any thoughts?

If you were not impressed, you probably didn't get close. It actually is impressive. How was Glacier Bay?

We were very close on 6/2 on the Coral Princess. Lots of calving. Beautiful.

Glacier Bay was beautiful, I think we missed John Hopkins though, isn't it large? I was thinking we didn't get close b/c all the pictures from other people here on cc that got close was impressive. BUT, I did go on the 26 glacier tour and got really really close, so maybe I'm just comparing, but I bet we didn't get close, I'm hoping someone will tell me who was on the Star

Was there on 6/8 on Radiance and we got pretty close, within a half mile I think they said. Great views and lots of calving! It was really cool to see and hear.

We were there on the Coral on 6/4; beautiful clear, sunny day. Moderate amt of calving, lots of large bergs. Glacier Bay next day even more impressive. Will upload pics.
