2 Days in Seattle precruise - what area to stay in?

We will be flying into Seattle with 2 full days before taking the train to Vancouver before departure. Is there an area that is best for getting to the train station? Do hotels offer shuttles like they do for the airport? We will most likely be doing the downtown area sites. Although still planning for all that, with possible rental car. Thoughts appreciated.

Come over to the West Coast Departures board, here:

where both Seattle and Vancouver are covered, as they are not in Alaska.

I would stay downtown, but downtown gets expensive during the cruise season. People stay at the airport to save a few bucks, and use light rail, or perhaps Uber. Others stay in the Lake Union area.

If you stay anywhere in the downtown area it's easier to NOT have a rental car. We used Uber a lot and stayed in the Queen Ann district. We stayed an entire week so we did an airbnb, which I realize is probably not optimum for you.

Thanks, everyone. Yes, I do realize neither Seattle or Vancouver are in Alaska. ;p That said, I didn't think about looking in homeports forum, so I do appreciate the pointer. I'm just so focused on Alaska! :D

I'm really not sure what all we will try to do. If my husband could have the ultimate, he would be hiking on a mountain. Just not enough time, I'm afraid.

I will definitely look at the suggestions.
