All of those places will be hot. Melbourne, Adelaide and Perth can be in the low 40's Celsius (110+ Fahrenheit) at that time of year. The Asian ports will be very humid...very hot and sticky. Not in the 40s, but in the 30s and very sticky.

The sea conditions could be anything...it will just depend at the time I suppose.

From Adelaide to Perth you will be crossing the Great Australian Bight....
It has the same reputation as the Bay of Biscay.

We did a very similar repositioning itinerary on the Diamond Princess in Feb.-March 2009. That year it was from Sydney to Bangkok but stopping in Singapore en route. There also were stops in Exmouth and Sihanoukville in 2009, which Princess unfortunately (in our view) has dropped from the 2014 itinerary. In any event, it was an excellent cruise.

The weather (as others have said) was warm to hot throughout. It was warm to hot, and mostly dry, at and between the Australian ports; and hot, very humid, and periodically rainy (sometimes very wet) at and between the Southeast Asian ports.

Consistent with Kiwi Kruzer's comment, we encountered moderately rough seas in the western part of the Great Australian Bight, continuing until we rounded Cape Leeuwin, W.A., and turned north toward Fremantle. However, the winds in the Bight are predominantly from the west (bow-on), and during our cruise, there was little rolling motion as we headed into the wind. Have a great trip...

John
