Books about Cruising.

I've seen other threads that have given the names of books that are about cruising. Murder, romance, whatever, as long as cruising is part of the book/story. I've read "Cruise Confidential," and some others, but would like more titles to feed my need of cruising. I don't have a Kendel, but have a Sony Reader, and some titles are hard to find.

Any suggestions?

I'm like you...ALWAYS on the hunt for cruise books. I even wrote a cruise romance (romantic comedy) that IS available on Sony...Trouble in Paradise. I love, love, love cruise stories. If you come up with any others, I'd love to have suggestions, too.

Happy Cruising!

I belong to two book clubs and over the last two years we have read two books that come to mind about cruises-the first one is a book by William Faulkner-it's called Mosquitos. It's about art and the artist and the patrons of the arts, written by an artist, but they go on a few days cruise on Lake Poncetrain (sorry spelling) and it is quite funny. The other is Ships of Fools, these are not easy reads but a great deal of entertainment. I hope that helps.:)

Lynn, can't wait to download your book! Thanks so much, and Marsh, love your suggestions. I'm going to have to do a lot of downloading tonight.:D

Hi, Tina,

I hope you'll enoy it. It's a light contemporary romance...totally related to cruising. Cruising in my PASSION!!!

I hope you write more! ....and more....and more! :D

I have one more book out there, but it's not cruise related. Sorry. ON A POSITIVE NOTE, I'm working on my third book, which IS a cruising story again. Cruising is definitely my niche and where I want to continue writing. Love and romance on the high seas. What could be better? NOTHING, in my opinion.

Happy Reading...and I would LOVE to hear your suggestions for cruise-related stories.

I'm about half way through with The Truth About Cruise Ships right now and enjoying it.

I can't get enough cruise-related books. I could read them 24/7.

I have to recommend Cruise Confidential and the sequel, Ship for Brains, by Brian David Bruns. They are wonderful, wonderful. I became totally immersed in Brian's stories and can't recommend them highly enough!!!

Glad to hear you liked Allure.

I lost the book discussions for a while. Glad I found them again

I'm the lady who was hunkered down in the shelter in the Virgin Islands when you were on your hurricane cruise.

Wow! St. Thomas was the ONLY port we got into on THAT cruise. What an amazing experience...one with memories that have stayed fresh in my mind for 32 years!

Hi, Melanie,

Yes, I am. Thank you for pointing that out. I know we can't promote ourselves, so I was just trying to answer the post about the Sony. Personally, I have a Kindle and read a LOT on there. It goes everywhere with me.

Thank you so much for commenting!!!

Hi, Cindy,

Wow! Thank you soooo much for your kind words. I'm finishing the novella that follows up on Alicia and Kenneth...as well as another great couple.

Daisies Never Lie IS out...but that's not a cruising story.

Cruising is definitely my passion. I'm happiest reading and writing about cruises and OF COURSE actually being ON a cruise. My husband and I are hoping to take another cruise before the end of the year so we can escape to Paradise again.

I can't believe you were in the Virgin Islands during those hurricanes in 1979 when I was on Song of Norway. We might have crossed paths. I just looked at your profile and see you and I are even the same age! What a small world it truly is.icon7.gif

Moved to St. Croix after the 2 hurricanes & then back stateside 2 years after that. Hurricane Hugo hit St Croix in '89 and I saw people I knew standing in line for food. All that was left of my former apartment was one small corner & 80% of the buildings on the island were not usable. We were very very lucky.

Wow! We were very lucky, too. Although it was scary at the time, we were kept nice and safe on Song of Norway, and Royal Caribbean went out of their way to keep us happy the whole week. We didn't get hit in South Florida that time, as expected. So all in all, we really dodged some devastating weather. Mother Nature can be rough...as we've found out here in Florida during subsequent hurricanes.

Lynn, I cruise next month and I just ordered your book, thanks for the heads up.

Have a wonderful cruise! There's nothing like being on the deck and gazing out at the gorgeous Caribbean waters. I love that turquoise color!!! Happy reading, too, and thank you so much <g>.
