New Years on Carnival

We spent last year on the Glory for New Year's and it was a lot of fun for us. We went with another couple who had a 16 y.o. with them. She spent time with friends she made on the ship and us older folk spent most of the evening on the Lido deck. As it got closer to midnight of course, it got packed full of people and it really was a fun night.

There were not special menus per se, but the atmosphere was party party party. You will have a great time, I'm sure.

Has anyone been on a Carnival ship over New Year's? What, if anything, special do they do for the holiday. Any special menus involved?

Holiday Onboard

New Year's Eve: 12/31

New Year’s cruises are just as memorable, offering one of the biggest celebrations at sea highlighted by the traditional countdown and complimentary noisemakers, party favors and champagne for “Fun Ship” revelers to ring in the New Year. When schedules permit, one of the formal nights on board takes place on New Year's Eve; if the schedule does not permit, then the night is slightly less formal. Most lounges will have live music including the outdoor Lido Deck. Streamers, hats and noisemakers are provided; at approximately 11:30pm, a formal countdown will begin in the lounges with roaming waiters serving "house" brand champagne.

Last year on the Magic was awesome for New Years! The party fell on the last night of the cruise, it was elegant night, there was free, free flowing champagne all around, parties on the Lido, the casino and a countdown from the bridge in the atrium. Bottles of champagne were given out as prizes for almost any reason all day! It was awesome! Lobster and prime rib in the MDR. Festivities lasted till Debarkation time for many. Fortunately Galveston was fogged in so we got a chance to catch up on some sleep by the pool while waiting for the port to open!:) I would definitely do it again!
