Pre-Cruise Hotel Stay and Luggage Transfer In New Orleans

Has anyone booked a pre-cruise room through NCL? The website says it handles luggage from hotel to the boat. This seems very convenient, but what assurance do you have that your bags actually make it onboard the ship before sail away??

It's been a while since we have done that but your luggage is transferred to the ship at the same time you are. For example, they tell you you will be leaving the hotel at 10:30. You meet in the lobby with your luggage and they place it on the van/bus and you board. You get off at the terminal, identify your luggage, tip the porter and away you go to the ship

Ok, that helps. It would defeat the purpose for us. We will be driving to the ship.
