MSC Poesia Dress code

Other than formal nights what is the dress code in the dining room and public areas. Their website states no shorts after 6pm in any public places.

We are travelling with several teenagers during spring break and they would like to wear nice shorts(no jeans or cutoffs) but were told only long pants were acceptable.

Did anyone wear knee length shorts ie cargo and told anything???

What were other people wearing?

MSC seems not to enforce any dress code, at least in the Caribbean in my expereince. However, I would say most guests try to dress a bit, especially at dinner. Shorts at dinner maybe allowed, but will look out of place. Just dress as if you were in Rome in the evening.

Never once saw males wearing shorts at night in the dining room. If we'd seen even one, my DH would have started wearing his. He often changed back after eating and had no problems wearing shorts in the Casino, lounges or shows.

That's how we've seen it the past 3 years on the ship. DH always changes after dinner.

Suit trousers are much lighter, smarter and cooler than jeans. What is this race to the bottom?

Well put Skipper Tim. There is always Carnival or Norwegian for those who care not to dress. We've just returned from a week aboard Poesia, and were pleased to see that most are dressing nicely. Those who don't seem out of place.
