Default Current soda package prices

I am too lazy to search out documentation for our upcoming cruise and know someone here will be able to answer....

Please what is the current soda package price, what does it include drink wise...soda / juices/water and are gratuities included in this price ?

Read somewhere about tax differences when purchased on embarkation cf prior to sailing or at sea...... Anyone have definitive answer please ?

Am trying to decide whether it would be more beneficial to use the package or purchase individual drinks....do understand difference between cans and fountain drinks.

Thanks in advance.

Its well worth it on longer cruises, I cant speak for others but in OZ its $101AU for a 14 night cruise!

Thats $7.21AU per day and the cost of 3 or 4 sodas.

The tip or 15% gratuity is included in the price

So around about 4 pound 80 to 5 pound a day tip included sorry no pound symbol on Aussie keyboards

On the package, all sodas are "from the gun" not from cans.

If the Serenade has the new freestyle machines, you can use those with your computer-chipped souvenir soda cup.

The cost is always in USD, and is $6.50 per person per day if you are past your 18th birthday; $4.50 if younger. To that is added 15% gratuity at the time of purchase.

Therefore for an adult, your seven night cruise would cost a total of $52.33 for the soda package.

It includes only soda, although "soda water" "club soda" "fizzy water" are on the gun also. The other flavors are coke, diet coke and sprite.

One can of soda costs about $2.50 including the gratuity.

I have no idea what the tax situation is like in that part of the world.

Many thanks, a clear and sensible answer.....so you'd probably break even on 2-3 drinks daily.

Hi I've just looked at my cruise where the soda prices have just opened up, they are priced in GB pounds not dollars and are £69 for adult and £44 for kids plus the 15% tip.
The main reason I post is that therefore the prices change with the exchange rate, a bit worrying as the pound is weakening against the dollar.
The wine package was available a few weeks ago at £119 it now starts at £125 plus tips for 6 bottles.
Not sure whether to book this now or wait and see!
We sail from Southampton in July.
Gillian.

You keep quoting those numbers without telling people the length of your cruise. That can be extremely misleading to other cruisers, particularly this one, who will be on a 7 night cruise NOT out of or in any way IN the UK.

I assume this is for a 14 night sailing, yes? We only paid £28.66 plus 15% for our upcoming 7 day sailing, total £32.96. So at a rate of $6.50 per day, per adult, we got an exchange rate of $1.587 to £1.

When you purchase onboard on embarkation day there might be a local tax added depending on the departure port.

For Florida departures there´s the FL State Tax added.

For Spain departures there´s the Spanish VAT added.

The breakeven point is 3 drinks. So you would have to be consuming 4 drinks per day for the soda package to make sense.

Default Price increase

I went in to buy my soda package prior to my April 8th LOS TA and they have raised the cost to $7.50 a day at $90 + for 12 day cruise.

The language does not show per day, just total, with the package expiring on the night prior to debarkation.

Had a price increase been discussed? I searched threads and could not find info.

I am 9 days out and the last day for booking is April 3rd for my cruise. This is not a factor?

It looks as though you're seeing the price with the 15% gratuity added in, which is expected.

$6.50 * 12 days = $78.00 + $11.70 (15% gratuity) comes to $89.70.

Or, are you seeing the $90 price plus gratuity on top of that?

I went to my bookings for later in the year where I have a 2 night and a 3 night and it is still $6.50 a day. I have always waited until the week prior to book and never been penalized, but this extra $1 a day on the TA must be because it is close to sailing date as it was $6.50 when checked last week.

2 day booking showing
Subtotal: *13.00 USDGratuity: *1.95 USDTotal: *14.95 USD

3 day booking showing
Subtotal: *19.50 USDGratuity: *2.93 USDTotal: *22.43 USD

Hi, this may seem a silly question but when you say they have opened up the prices for July - where do I find those prices for wine packages? We sail on the Adventure in July. last year we were on NCL and you could sign up on the first day for a wine package - will this be the same or do you think you should book in advance?

You can pre book via Cruise Planner or the Countdown to Cruise part, the same place as check in details and set sail docs, luggage tags etc. Click pre cruise planner and select alcohol packages.
I like to pre purchase soda cards as then the logo is pre printed on your card, also helps spread the cost, pre ordered spirits on Princess last year so thought would pre order some wine this year.
I think you can buy on the first day from the bar or stands around the ship, sure some one else will confirm.
We are on the AoS on the 21 July from Southampton, is this the same as you?
Gillian.

Thanks for that! I have onboard credit of $500 so am not keen to pre order any packages as would rather do it on board so that I can use up my credit. I will have to find out if you can do this on the first day. The wine package is sim, ilar to Ncl and I found it great value, we also used to take wine that we had not used at dinner into the bar with us and they were quite happy for you to do that, hopefully RC will be similar.
It is the AoS on the 7th I am on.
