I recently returned from a cruise to St. thomas and went up the mountain on the tram - they served a BUSHWHACKER - and it was absolutely delicious. I had them on the ship to but hey were not quite as good. But try it if you have the opportunity

Hi! I have a question (tried to run a search, but I keep getting the "website not responding" message).

Does anyone know what is in the Carnival drinks of the day? With the exception of here, I've never heard of a Yellow Bird...Does anyone know the general flavors of: Gombay Smash, Island Delight, Ultimate Suntan, Caribbean Breeze, Riviera Delight or the Funship Special?

I even tried searching epicurious.com and the food network site - nothing.

Thanks

Chocolate Martini:

1 part premium vodka

1 part creme de cacao

1/2 part Irish Creme (Baileys)

Shake with ice as you would any martini

(Note: this is a "Baileys Chocolate Martini", not sure if there are other recipes for "regular" chocolate martinis.)

WHAT'S IN A YELLOWBIRD?

I imagine my favorite would have to be a Pusser's Pain Killer, but even though I bought Pusser's rum and followed their directions exactly, it just wasn't the same back home. It's one of those "you have to have been there to understand it" type drinks.

Then, there's Sunshine's Killer Bees on Nevis, which I swear has illegal ingredients in it as most serious imbibers' behavior supports. My suspicion is that there's some kind of Jack Iron-type rum in it, which, I swear:D , is fermented Cannabis Sativa.

But, for drinking at home, a Margarita with fresh lime juice is hard to beat.

That's one of my favorites as well. My recipe is as follows (I make a whole pitchers worth):

In large sealable pitcher combine:

One large can pineapple juice

Half a can (or less to taste) no-pulp orange juice

One can Coco Lopez (think it's 8 ounces)

Half 500ml bottle of dark rum to taste (not "black" rum. I use Cockspur)

Shake well to mix. You may need to use a whisk to break up the Coco Lopez. Serve over ice. Top with grated nutmeg (optional).
