Hotel Maya to NCL Cruise Ship?

Hi,

We are sailing on NCL for the first time. I understand they sail out of San Pedro and not where Carnival sails. We love the Hotel Maya and have stayed there for our Carnival Cruises and Disney.

We would like to stay there again and are wondering how long it takes to get from the Hotel Maya to the port where NCL sails.

Thank you!

Hi,

We also love the Maya.

I would call them and remind them that you are past guests who love them and ask if their shuttle could take you to the San Pedro port. I'd ask to speak to a manager about that .

It never hurts to ask.

And then while the shuttle is gone on a longer trip to San Pedro, what are the passengers who want to take it to Long Beach going to do with no shuttle?

No worries there, we like to park right at the port so our car is there when we get off the ship so we will drive to the port in the morning. We just like the Maya's ambience and our daughter's love the looks.

I would check with your hotel about shuttles to San Pedro. It could be that any Long Beach hotel shuttling cruise ship passengers may just go to the Port of Long Beach (which is where Carnival has a berth) and not to the World Cruise Center, which is at the Port of Los Angeles in the community of San Pedro (where the other cruise ships sail from for embarkation).

And certainly, if you're taking a taxi, land transportation, etc. to the Port of LA, you need to make sure your driver is taking you there, and not to Long Beach.

It's about 8 miles from the Maya to the World Cruise Center in San Pedro. Google maps is a good tool to use.:)

You might want to take a look at the Doubletree in San Pedro...a sister hotel to the Maya...It's in a very nice setting on a yacht harbor and they'll do a park and cruise deal from there...

But, if you must stay at the Maya and are looking at driving to San Pedro on your own in the morning, it's really no big deal...as has been said, maybe 8 miles...Though you might encounter a little port traffic as you go right through the heart of the Los Angeles/Long Beach Port complex--across Terminal Island and the Vincent Thomas Bridge...a lot of trucks serving the port facilities...figure 20-30 minutes...
