Navigating Miami Airport

I understand the Miami airport is horrible, especially American Airlines due to construction. Does it take longer to get through check in and security in Miami than most other airports eg. Los Angeles where I'm coming from? I want to allow enough time post-cruise and not miss my flight home.

You're advised to be at the airport 2 hours before flight time. That's plenty. Miami isn't any worse than Atlanta or Chicago. Don't fret.
