Should they ban smoking from all inside locations?

I've been in the Connesseur's club, pardon the spelling, and I never heard anyone complain about the smokers, even though sometimes there were more cigarette smokers than cigar smokers. I know most didn't like the smell, but never made the smokers feel uncomfortable. In fact, when they asked if it was ok, the answer was always yes.

I'm a smoker, and completely agree about no indoor smoking. I do believe, though, they should have a smoking lounge, that a lot of ships have, with an excellent exhaust in it. Royal has them on most of the Voyager and all of the Freedom class ships. NCL has them on almost all their ships, as does Princess.
On freedom and voyager class they are turning the Connoisseurs Clubs in libraries so you either use the casino or go out to deck 4 and hope to find a seat by an ashtray.

Why do you need to sit? It doesn't take but 5 minutes to smoke a cigarette. Need to add more poles away from the doors

Cigars take longer.maybe 15 or 20 minutes. I'm 68 years old. Can't stank that long.

I used to love playing in the casinos and could usually find a place to play that wasn't too smoky, but since smoking was banned on balconies and restricted, all the smokers tend to congregate in the casinos, and I can't handle it (1. it's not healthy, 2. I'm allergic to cigarette smoke, 3. It stinks and lingers on my hair and clothes). So I just avoid the casino now (which means that I'm not spending money on gambling). I would love alternating some non-smoking nights in the casino, or maybe have one or two cruises per year that are completely smoke-free.

I do think smoking inside the whole ship should be banned. With outside areas away from doors. A covered area would be nice for them as well. Celebrity does this very well.

I'm an ex smoker from Canada. All inside public areas in Canada are non smoking. If a whole country can figure it out you'd think the cruise lines could manage.

I am however concerned and surprised at some of the non smokers comments to smokers. Wishing they would all die?!? Making comments to people about how they smell!! Holy cow. What is wrong with you!?! People need to learn respect and compassion. And because you don't have these you will, I'm sure, still think your comments were valid. Shame on you.

I meant cigarettes, sorry. I figured the Connoisseurs Club was available for cigars.

BTW, do they still do cigars under the stars at Sky Bar?

Just off the Adventure and I did not see "cigars under the stars"in the compass.

I don't think the size/class of the ship has anything to do with the impact of casino smokers on non-smokers. We were on the Anthem last month and I couldn't stay in the casino for more than 10 minutes when I was trying to play roulette.

The positive for me was the money I most likely would have lost gambling was better spent on a piece of jewelry.

When I cruise RCCL we do not use the casino because of the smoking. When we cruise Celebrity we frequent the smoke free casino. The Serenade of the Seas was the worse ship we have been on for smoking, as the smoke pours out of the casino into the atrium and rises all the way up to the top decks and cabins near the atrium.

This last week on Jewel the smell of smoke from the Casino was incredibly strong and lingered in areas outside of the casino.
The actual casino was quite unpleasant due to the small including even when the casino was not open.
I have never noticed it so bad on a ship before including when smoking was more widespread.
As smoking bans are now becoming more common in inside locations worldwide is it time to ban smoking inside ships?
Would it put off cruisers or would it encourage other people to cruise?
There should be a universal ban for all cruise ships

Good news! Empress has a non-smoking casino. Can finally walk through to the other side and has a good bar.
Non-smoking all the time?

Correct. We have been on Empress 8 times and all were non smoking. Awesome!
So there's no other indoor smoking area on Empress?

Not to my knowledge. Its wo derful. Smokers can use the aft of Boleros or port side deck 6 or port side of pool deck 10. We always book starboard side because smoke wafts down from desk 10 on the port side.

I agree with indoor spaces.
Often when we walk along the Royal Promenade you can smell smoke from the casino.
Personally we don't use the casino's but the smoking must help the cause of GA.
