There is the pirate museum up a few blocks from the dock area. Public beaches and pay beaches are available nearby.

We were in Nassau a few weeks ago on Carnival Dream and we walked to a public beach not far from the cruise port. It was a very nice beach, beautiful water and our 2 kids loved it, ages 3 and 6. We spent our time there and were pleased.

We've been to Nassau quite a few times and throughly enjoy the Atlantis experience. I've even been able to go down that amazing waterslide! I believe it would be cool for your kids to see they have a nice feature that's all around their property that you can walk through and see tons of sea life. Their beach is pretty nice there as well.
