Mediteranea cabin?

Just about to book the next Costa cruise.

Great deal on Mediteranea at end of May. Weather should be picking up!

Usually book an Ocean View. I read that the classic cabins on deck 4 are better than the premium on deck 1. Reason being the cabins on deck 4, whilst restricted view, they have full floor to ceiling opening window, like balcony, that can be opened for air. You cant fall out as there is a glass side like on a balcony cabin.

Can anyone confirm this? I do like premium for dinner choice and room service but if the cabin is better I might take my chances......

Unfortunately, I forget the exact configuration, can't recall how much the views are obstructed. I do think the balcony door in the one I was in did open, if all you want is sea air. How Costa decides between "Classic" and "Premium" baffles me, the worst-located cabin I've been in was a premium.
