Celebrity Beds??

This is really going to sound silly, but can anyone tell me if the beds are shorter due to the curved ends? This is our first cruise on Celebrity and my DH is 6'6 and was wondering if his feet are going to hang over the bed.

From what I've read the beds when pushed together measure 72.5" wide x 82" long at the longest of the bed (not the rounded corner side).

They refer to them as "Royal Kings" sometimes.

  • A traditional King bed is 76" x 80"
  • Cal King is 72" x 84"
  • Traditional Queen, 60" x 80"

We did not encounter the shorter curved beds on Infinity, Constellation or Solstice, but did on our recent Century cruise. I slept on the right side and had to untuck the covers on the curved, shorter end, in order to straighten my right leg. It was one of the few irritations of the cruise.

Hope I never encounter the rounded beds again.

I'm 6' and found my feet hanging off the edge on the right side. The other issue is that these are essentially 2 twin beds pushed together with the corners rounded. I found that my "half" sloped noticeably to the right, perhaps from overuse. Did not care for it nor the pillows.

I'm 5'6" and my husband is 6'0". We are both annoyed by the curved beds (I'm a starfish sleeper and he's just tall). We are certainly able to sleep in the bed, but we NOTICE the curve and would much rather that it wasn't there.

I don't like the Celebrity pillows, either. I'm much happier bringing my own :)

The penthouse is supposed to be a full width king size bed.

Concierge and below are only queen beds that can be split in two.

When split they are VERY narrow!!!

I am 5' 10" and my feet go past the bottom on the curved side.

I sleep on top with a light blanket.

The pillow problem is easily solved by asked for whatever kind you would like. They will bring them if available for any cabin.

I am 6'3' and sleep with toes pointed and very straight - never a problem except once a bed sloping to the outside very slightly. Had the mattress changed the next morning! you would be amazed what a steward can do if asked politely.

Always comfortable.
