Galapagos backpack

did i read somewhere that SS provides a backpack on the cruise to the Galapagos? Is it waterproof?

If it is the same backpack as is given on Explorer, it is NOT waterproof.

yes backpacks have been provided. i don't know if they're waterproof.... haven't had to test it.

It's a nice backpack, but I don't think waterproof. Certainly water resistant though. Unless you're worried about dropping it in the water, I can't see why you'd need it to actually be waterproof. Seemed perfectly adequate to protect my camera and other gear from the fairly minimal seaspray in the Zodiacs, and I think would be fine in all but an absolute downpour (and we didn't get any rain at all).
