Cabin above Main Show Lounge?

Recommended Posts

I have had a cabin above the main theater, and YES, you can, and will hear the music from the BIG shows, but thankfully they don't usually go very late. Usually that's all over by 10 P.M., and it doesn't happen every night. Occasionally, you'll hear music during the day, when the entertainers are rehearsing, but that's not the norm. :)

yes, my brother and I had a room above it on the magic. we never heard a thing in the room. we tested it out the first night and chose not to see the welcome aboard show, and didn't hear noise. I was worried about it too, but never a problem. We also had a room above the casino on the victory in 2002 and that was fine too.

I would say, if you are worried, try to see if you can change your room. you never know. maybe its the ship. If not, like the other poster said, they are usually over by 10pm

My MIL had a cabin over the main lounge on the Dream. It was LOUD!! She mentioned it to us the first night, and on the second night I went over to check it out. It felt as if they had speakers against the wall of the cabin. We could hear the "boom, boom, boom" from the music and we could even sing along. Everything rattled in the room.

A big problem was that apparently they had practice or something else going on because even after the last show, she could still hear music being turned on and off, and started again intermittently for a few more hours.

We did complain at guest services and within 2 hours, they had another cabin for my MIL. Apparently the complaint was common. They didn't ask questions. It almost seemed like they were expecting the complaint.

They sent a cabin steward with a cart to assist my MIL move to her new cabin and they also posted a $50 OBC to her account for the inconvenience.

(Her cabin number was 6229 on the Dream)

Anyone on here been in a cabin directly above the show lounges? Spirit class ship. Wondering what the noise is like. Traveling with children' date=' so don't want to be up all night, but the upgraded would give us an extended balcony which would be nice with 4 in the room.[/quote']

Although we've not had a cabin above the main theater, we've had one above one of the lounges. In that particular lounge, on some nights, they would have karaoke. And of course, the more people drank, the louder and more off-key they got. So we've learned that when selecting a cabin, it's very important to look at the deck plans to see what is above and below the cabin you're considering.;)

we had a cabin on deck six forward on the Valor once and could pretty much hear every word they were singing in the main show theatre. I will say it would die down late evening after last show but if you decide you want to head to bed and have quiet time before 11 then I wouls stay away from this area.
