American cruise passengers missing from Falmouth on Tuesday, April 26 (Oasis?)

Recommended Posts

An American couple has gone missing after getting off a ship in Falmouth on Tuesday for a day trip. Stories are not identifying the ship, but the only one in port on Tuesday, April 26th was Oasis.

Here is one of the stories http://www.loopjamaica.com/content/frantic-search-locate-missing-american-cruise-ship-passengers

I hope they find them safe and sound someplace.

This article says they asked to disembark the ship in Jamaica. Maybe they weren't missed initially because they weren't expected back?

There is this article too that has a weird statement in it.

http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/cruise-passengers-u-s-missing-jamaica-article-1.2617634

"I challenge each of you to do the same by consciously leaving your phone at home while you go out into the world to explore," she wrote. "It is up to each of us to take a break and come back to our inner goodness by being as present as possible."

Sounds like they planned to go off the grid.

As they are now in Jamaica illegally, authorities will surely deport them once they surface.

The one article says that RCL personnel assisted them with disembarkation and escorted them to immigration. If that's the case they're either still there or have been allowed into the country legally.

I must have missed that. But if they are in Jamaica legally, I'm not sure why Jamaican authorities are/were searching for them. Or why Royal would provide photographs. Something doesn't add up.

It's not that something doesn't add up; it's that the media jumped to an erroneous and premature conclusion. The updated article states:

"While on board, they asked to debark the ship in Jamaica. The ship team assisted them with this request and were escorted to immigration," Martinez said.

When NBC 7 San Diego tracked down Gerson's mother, she told them there was no story. That she has talked with her son and he is fine.

She was in the process of contacting the Jamaican authorities to correct the news alert information."

Soooo...

A couple made arrangements with the cruise line and local immigration to depart their cruise early.

Then they did so; exactly as planned.

It's like that children's game of Telephone. Did someone overhear 1 sentence of a conversation and determine the couple was MISSING. Then they went to the media?

Sounds about right. That's what's scary about news these days. Too many lazy people that want to be the first to get it out there before checking everything out.

That's why I do my best to take things with a grain of salt. Check out the ESPN 30 for 30 on the Duke LaCrosse "Rape"

I'm on the Oasis now., there's more to the story! They took their belongings and left the ship while we docked in Jamaica. However, they only used birth certificates and drivers licenses to board the ship. Once they realized that they couldn't fly back to the US with their documents, they tried to get back onto the ship. Needless to say, they arrived at the pier after we left.

Guest Services.. The couple called RCCL to ask if the ship can return.

Do you need to know why I was at Guest Services also????????

No need to be rude. I wasn't rude to you - I simply asked a question that probably everyone who read your post was thinking also. Since you claim to know a lot about this, it seems natural to ask how you came to know this.
